Our Meritorious Performers were able to attend the Wings Over Wayne Air Show at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina. LtCol Morris was the chaperone and our Cadets joined in with a men's group from a local church to have breakfast and convoy down to the show.
The highlight for many was the mock battle featuring F-15's, A-10's and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Parachute Team. For others it was the Air Force Thunderbirds and their display of air power. For two of our lucky Cadets it was a private tour of the cockpit of a Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, including getting to look out of the roof hatch and survey the entire base.
When asked for a comment, Cadet Moreno simply said "planes!".
Andrew is excited to be a part of such a great school and is ready for the tasks ahead.
He is no stranger to military boarding schools. Andrew is a 1998 graduate of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington Missouri, where he attended for high school and junior college. "My brother had a friend in college who recommended Wentworth to my parents, apparently little Andrew reminded him of himself as a future cadet."
Andrew never expected to return to boarding schools but after he and his wife had begun their family, Andrew rediscovered the magic of what a school like Hargrave can do for a young man.
In his journey to Chatham, Andrew has been a teacher, coach, TAC, marketing director and admissions director at five other military boarding schools. As a coach, his military drill team was nationally ranked and four of his cadets went on to be members of the West Point Drill Team.
Andrew and Jennifer are enjoying living in bucolic Chatham with their two children and are very proud to be members of the Hargrave family.
