The Hargrave Drummers made the news this past week by donating some of their older drums to a local middle school. Earlier this year, Bonner Middle School started a program of math tutoring and music for their students and recently made an appeal to the community for drums. MSgt Tyler Selden and our Cadets answered the call!
Our students are growing into being leaders of character and part of that education is to know the good feeling that comes from helping others.
Andrew is excited to be a part of such a great school and is ready for the tasks ahead.
He is no stranger to military boarding schools. Andrew is a 1998 graduate of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington Missouri, where he attended for high school and junior college. "My brother had a friend in college who recommended Wentworth to my parents, apparently little Andrew reminded him of himself as a future cadet."
Andrew never expected to return to boarding schools but after he and his wife had begun their family, Andrew rediscovered the magic of what a school like Hargrave can do for a young man.
In his journey to Chatham, Andrew has been a teacher, coach, TAC, marketing director and admissions director at five other military boarding schools. As a coach, his military drill team was nationally ranked and four of his cadets went on to be members of the West Point Drill Team.
Andrew and Jennifer are enjoying living in bucolic Chatham with their two children and are very proud to be members of the Hargrave family.
The 2019 yearbook dedication ceremony took place after Chapel on Tuesday. This year had several recipients - the Hargrave Maintenance Department. Our Cadets appreciate the hard work, dedication and sacrifice of our maintenance and housekeeping crew.
