Featured Faculty – Janice McLaughlin

Ms. McLaughlin is a veteran teacher and a U.S. Army Veteran. She joined our CIS (middle school) Department this year as an English Instructor.

She holds a BS in Psychology and Special Education from Lynchburg College, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Phoenix and an Ed. S. in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.

Hargrave is her first boarding school experience and she helps coach our junior varsity soccer and golf teams. “I was more of a chauffeur than a coach for soccer.”

Janice has been married to William (also an Army Veteran) for 35 years and has three grown children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, reading, crafts and travel. She has been to 48 states and only needs to visit Alaska and Oregon to complete her list.

As a local resident, she wishes that everyone knew how our “Cadets are great young men. There are a lot of awesome young men at Hargrave.”

“I love working at Hargrave because I get to work alongside some incredible people, and my position as English Instructor offers me the opportunity to impact young men from all walks of life in a positive way. Whether in sports or in class, I can take the time to work individually with each Cadet to ensure their success.”
