We are excited to be joined by Coach John Bailey. He is a veteran college baseball coach and a U.S. Army veteran who received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Coming to Hargrave from Danville Community College, Coach Bailey brings over 35 years of coaching experience, including several state and conference titles. "I am excited about the new adventure and the challenges of coaching high school boys," Coach Bailey declares. "Hargrave is in a tough conference."
As a coach, his favorite kind of player is "an aggressive kid that will become a better person by learning from his mistakes. Baseball is not easy; you have to earn it." He hopes that all of his players will make memories as part of the team and "be proud that they played baseball at Hargrave Military Academy."
Andrew is excited to be a part of such a great school and is ready for the tasks ahead.
He is no stranger to military boarding schools. Andrew is a 1998 graduate of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington Missouri, where he attended for high school and junior college. "My brother had a friend in college who recommended Wentworth to my parents, apparently little Andrew reminded him of himself as a future cadet."
Andrew never expected to return to boarding schools but after he and his wife had begun their family, Andrew rediscovered the magic of what a school like Hargrave can do for a young man.
In his journey to Chatham, Andrew has been a teacher, coach, TAC, marketing director and admissions director at five other military boarding schools. As a coach, his military drill team was nationally ranked and four of his cadets went on to be members of the West Point Drill Team.
Andrew and Jennifer are enjoying living in bucolic Chatham with their two children and are very proud to be members of the Hargrave family.

First, I'd like to thank all of the Cadets who came for the first couple of rounds of wrestling.
