Mr. Austin Burnette

Former Assistant PG Basketball Coach

Austin Burnette is a former Hargrave Post Graduate Basketball player. After Hargrave, Austin continued his education at Campbell University, located in Buies Creek, North Carolina, where he obtained his 4-year degree in Sport Management. While at Campbell, Austin continued to play basketball and later earned the 2019 Big South Conference Regular-Season Championship his junior year. Austin was then awarded the opportunity to work at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia as the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach. He then decided to pursue more education and a coaching position at Florida International University; while there Austin earned a Masters of Science in Hospitality Management and became the Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant.

Upon his return to campus, Austin stated “The feeling, being back at Hargrave, is surreal. The things I was able to learn and develop during my time as a player on the post graduate team has stuck with me and has led me back to Chatham with the intentions to help these young men achieve their goals and dreams”.
