On Monday afternoon the Tigers kicked off a three match week with an impressive 7-2 victory over the visiting Carlisle Chiefs!
The Hargrave Tigers took the short trip through Route 57 to take on the Chiefs of Carlisle School. In their most competitive match of the season, the Tigers fought valiantly but fell 5-4 to Carlisle.
Prior to spring break, the Hargrave Tigers took a trip north to Charlotteville, Virginia to take on Covenant. The Tigers clawed tooth and nail but fell to Covenant, 9-0, to move their record to 0-3 on the season.
The Tigers had their home opener on Wednesday afternoon as they hosted rival Fork Union Military Academy at the Landon Tennis Center. After a thrilling afternoon of tennis, Hargrave fell to Fork Union 8-1.

Tiger wins were logged at #1 Singles (David Kiesnowski, Appleton, WI), #2 Singles Luke Atkins (Raleigh, NC), #1 Doubles (Kiesnowski and Max Eskew, Wilmington, NC) - shortened due to time issues, and #3 Doubles (David Chen, Chiang Mai, Thailand and Mason Rucker, Matthews, NC).
In back-to-back matches, the Tigers lived the adage that life is full of peaks and valleys, emerging with a current season record of 4-3 (1-3 in VIC).
The win takes Hargrave Tennis record to 2-1 overall (1-1 in VIC).
Regardless of the scorecard results, the eight players in the competition ladder matches and the five getting in exhibition matches gained valuable experience that will certainly pay long-term dividends.
