Outstanding Varsity Athlete
This award is given annually to a student-athlete that showcases outstanding athletic achievement, academic success in the classroom, and character on and off the field. This year’s recipient is a newcomer to Hargrave but his athletic prowess preceded him to Chatham as he has been heralded as an exceptional multi-sport athlete. This young man continued his athletic growth at Hargrave as a two-sport Varsity athlete, competing as a member of the Football and Basketball teams. Although he provided some offensive firepower on the gridiron, he truly made his mark inside Walter Davis Gymnasium on the basketball court. The Varsity Basketball season began with this young man hitting a catch and shoot three pointer from the right wing in a rout over Timberlake Christian. He continued to excel on the court despite battling nagging injuries throughout the year. Statistically, he ended up averaging 17 points per game while hauling in over 7 rebounds per game. The sky is truly the limit for this young man and we are excited to be part of his growth, both on and off the playing surface. The 2021-22 Outstanding Varsity Athlete award goes to Kameron Roberts!
