Media Credentials

Media and photographer credentials for Hargrave Military Academy athletic events are available to members of the working press, radio, and television media. All credential requests must be submitted via email to Caleb Pitcher at caleb.pitcher@hargrave.edu.

Requests should be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the event. Requests received after this deadline may be denied at the discretion of the Sports Information Department.

Approved credentials will be available for pickup at the press box or scorer’s table, depending on the sport and event location. All media personnel must display their credentials at all times while covering an event. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in removal from the premises.

Interview Policy

All interviews with Hargrave Military Academy coaches and student-athletes, whether on game days or non-game days, must be coordinated through the Sports Information Department. Unauthorized interviews are prohibited.

Postgame interviews may be conducted following a 10-minute cooling-off period after the conclusion of competition. All other interview requests, including those involving coaches and student-athletes outside of postgame availability, must be arranged in advance through the Director of Sports Information.

To schedule an interview, please contact Caleb Pitcher at caleb.pitcher@hargrave.edu.

Media Conduct and Professional Standards

All members of the media are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner while covering Hargrave Military Academy athletic events. Media personnel must comply with all policies, procedures, and instructions issued by the Sports Information Department.

Members of the media are expected to treat all spectators, student-athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, and staff with courtesy and respect. Vulgar, abusive, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate language and conduct will not be tolerated.

The publication, distribution, or reporting of information known to be false or deliberately misrepresented is prohibited. Negative or critical coverage, in and of itself, does not constitute a policy violation; however, the deliberate dissemination of falsified or knowingly misleading information may result in the revocation of media credentials and a ban from future home athletic events.

All media personnel are responsible for maintaining professional standards of conduct throughout their time on campus and at Hargrave Military Academy athletic events.

Media Access and Policy Enforcement

Hargrave Military Academy reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny, restrict, or revoke media credentials and to limit or terminate media access to athletic events, facilities, personnel, and designated areas as deemed necessary.

Any violation of this policy, including failure to follow the instructions of the Sports Information Department, unprofessional or disrespectful conduct, the use of vulgar language, or the dissemination of deliberately falsified information, may result in immediate removal from the premises, revocation of media credentials, and/or a ban from future home athletic events.

Participation in media coverage of Hargrave Military Academy athletic events is subject to compliance with this policy. The Academy reserves the right to enforce these standards to maintain a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all participants and attendees.
