International Students

International Fast Facts

Hargrave is a college preparatory school, not a pathway to serving in the military. It is, instead, the spirit of the military, teaching the students honor, integrity, self-discipline, pride, tolerance, endurance, all of which builds character that benefits each student throughout their life.

  • A safe and secure environment in which to live and thrive.
  • Acceptance into at least one college or university.
  • International Students’ Matriculation and Orientation to facilitate transition.
  • English-speaking roommates to promote English proficiency.
  • Advisory Groups for mentoring and relationship building.
  • Multiple levels of ESL classes offered for individualized instruction.
  • On-Campus testing for SAT, PSAT and ACT. We transport international students for TOEFL testing.

We Love Chatham, Virginia

For over 100 years, Hargrave has been a part of the Chatham community. Chatham is a great little town in Southern Virginia and has been the location of the Pittsylvania County seat since 1777.

Campus is within walking distance of downtown Chatham, several restaurants, and a grocery store.

Of special interest to the Cadets is a girls’ boarding school on the opposite side of town!

Hargrave Lookbook

We foster an environment of change, integrity, growth, character, and leadership, and intrinsically motivate our Cadets to succeed in every aspect of their lives.

Boys’ Education

We base every day on these beliefs about how boys grow into young men.
