Chuck Dowdy, a proud member of Hargrave Military Academy’s Class of 1964, went on to attend Virginia Commonwealth University before beginning a distinguished career in financial services. In 1971, he joined Northwestern Mutual, where he now serves as District Manager and Principal of the Farmville branch, providing comprehensive guidance in estate and financial planning.
Chuck’s journey of achievement is deeply rooted in the values instilled during his time at Hargrave. He often attributes his personal and professional success to the discipline, leadership, and character he developed there, and he remains a proud and dedicated alumnus.
Deeply committed to his community, Chuck has long been an active supporter of Farmville. He is a devoted member of Farmville Presbyterian Church and has contributed his leadership to numerous local organizations. He served on the board of the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA) and currently sits on the Longwood University Foundation Board, where he lends his insight on the Investment and Finance Committee. A passionate advocate for education, culture, and athletics, Chuck is also a proud supporter of the Longwood Men’s Basketball Team.
