Jessica Sink Dalton

Jessica is a 2002 graduate of Hargrave. A native of Chatham, Virginia, Jessica Dalton’s journey in education and leadership has been marked by excellence and innovation. Raised in Pittsylvania County, she has been a trailblazer in her academic and professional pursuits. As a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy, she not only received an outstanding education but also made history as the first female graduate appointed to the Hargrave Military Academy Board of Trustees. Jessica S. Dalton continued to excel academically, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech, with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. Her passion for education led her to pursue a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Lynchburg. Beginning her career as a dedicated teacher at Dan River High School in the Science Department, Mrs. Dalton imparted knowledge and inspired students in subjects such as Biology, Environmental Science, and Anatomy. Her leadership potential was quickly recognized, and in 2008, she transitioned to the administrative team at Chatham High School as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. In 2018, Jessica S. Dalton assumed the role of Principal at the Pittsylvania Career and Technical Center, where she has made significant contributions to career-focused education. Her dedication to advancing career and technical education extends beyond the local level, as she has served as the State Secretary for the Virginia Association of Career and Technical Education and as a member of the Region VI Directors of Career and Technical Education. In July 2024 Jessica transitioned to Danville Community College as the Vice President of Workforce Services. Furthermore, Jessica Dalton’s commitment to fostering collaboration between education and industry is evidenced by her involvement in numerous Regional Economic Development work committees and advisory boards. By cultivating partnerships with local industry partners, Mrs. Dalton has played a pivotal role in ensuring that students are equipped with the skills necessary to thrive in today’s workforce.
