President of Hudson Insurance Agency, P. D. was born and raised in South Boston, Virginia. P. D. graduated from Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance and Accounting.
After college, he began his career with PFPC and was part of the accounting team for the American Express Foreign Equity Fund. After leaving PFPC, he took an agent position with Northwestern Mutual Life. In 2004, he opened a branch of his father’s insurance agency in Halifax, Virginia. P. D. and his wife, Dodie, moved to Danville in 2006, where Dodie is originally from. Later in 2011, he opened his third branch in Danville, VA.
P. D. and Dodie have been happily married for 24 years and are blessed with three God-given boys, Hamden, and twins, Kelsten and Keylen. P. D. and Dodie are so proud of all three. Hamden, now 21 years old, rides professional motocross and supercross for PRMX Kawasaki and lives in Clermont, FL. Kelsten and Keylen, 2025 graduates of Hargrave Military Academy, are Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy. P. D. is passionate about flying planes and golf. P. D. has his private and instrument rating, which gives him and Dodie more liberty to go visit their boys.
P. D. and Dodie are very interested in the future of our youth and in helping them believe in themselves to succeed. P. D. believes in “where there is a will, there is a way,” and refers to himself as probably one of the most persistent people you will meet.
