Hargrave Announces Interim Commandants

We’re pleased to announce that two esteemed members of the Hargrave family will be stepping in as Interim Commandants in the summer and fall of 2023. 1SG Eric Samuels, USA (Retired), will assume the role of Interim Commandant during the Hargrave Summer Program. A deeply dedicated and well-respected figure at Hargrave, 1SG Samuels recently marked his tenth year with us, previously serving as a TAC Officer and Deputy Commandant.

Following the Summer Program, an esteemed Hargrave alumnus will take over the interim leadership duties. We’re proud to welcome back Army veteran, Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Redding, HMA ‘93, whose wealth of experience and dedication makes him the perfect fit for the Interim Commandant position beginning in the fall.

LTC Redding comes with a distinguished educational background, including a Masters in Leadership Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. His decorated service record includes working as the Chief of Operations, National Airborne Operations Center, Team 2, and the Commander of Advanced Individual Training for US Army Helicopter Mechanics.

We are confident that 1SG Samuels and LTC Redding will provide the effective leadership that Hargrave needs during this transition period. We further believe their combined experience and dedication to the Hargrave mission will serve our community well, and we look forward to the positive impact their leadership will bring to Hargrave and its Cadets.
