The Hargrave Middle School team got their first victory tonight against Carlisle. The team got off to a fast start with some very quick defense lead by Cadet Tyrus Lawson. The team played very hard throughout the entire game and were getting some great looks at the basket. We missed our share of layups allowing Carlisle to stay in it. We played very aggressive and had four players in foul trouble in the 3rd quarter with four fouls each. Sitting some players allowed Carlisle to go up by four going into the 4th quarter.
A stout defense, heavy scoring and some clutch free throws by Cadet Gage Edwards solidified the victory for the Tigers with a score of 37-31.
The leading scorers were Cadet Jackson Miller with nine points, Cadet Slater Barefoot with seven points and Edwards with 6 points.
