The JV baseball team made the arduous trek to FarmVille, Virginia, to take on the Fuqua School JV team. Their team had previously won on our home field by a lopsided run total. The Hargrave team has continued to gel and play as a unit which showed in the final score of Hargrave 14 Fuqua 11.
Luis Rodriquez went in the top of the 2nd in relief and pitched 6 strong innings for the win. Strong outfield performances were put in by Jourden Galloway and Adam Saliu. Sam Lewis made several catches at shortstop that would have made the ESPN top ten. Seth Collins turned in a superb game as catcher, his first game at that position. While in the past, hitting has been at a premium, the hitting by most of the players was unleashed, including a potential inside the park home run by Josh Dolan, who was held at third only because he stumbled rounding the bag. We have a lot to be proud of with these young men. They do not know the term “give up.” They do know the phrase “give all.” Go Hargrave!
