Summary
Not much went right for the Tigers in their first game on the road against Fork Union. Fork Union had the advantage of several extra weeks to prepare for the game and it showed.
Hargrave was both physically and mentally outmatched by the much larger Fork Union team. The Tigers went into halftime with a 0-52 deficit, which proved to be too much to overcome.
During the halftime break they were told they had a choice to make; they could give up and go home or come out and battle the rest of the game. Their decision was obvious. The Tigers came out of the break with a strong offensive drive and scored their first touchdown of the season. The drive was lead by strong running from both Reggie Robinson and Zach Snider. It was Robinson that found the end zone for the first score of the year.
The defense also fought hard and kept Fork Union to a mere 6 points in the second half. Overall, it was a learning experience for everyone and the team is definitely ready to do battle again next week.
Next week the Tigers will host North Cross School at Hargrave.
