Initial Drill Competition
Bravo Company emerged victorious in the first drill competition of the year, showcasing remarkable precision and teamwork under the leadership of Leon Qin. Their exceptional performance set the bar high for the rest of the Corps.
Students Experience Hands-On Conservation Education
In an exciting educational adventure, our Leadership Experience – Service Learning class, joined by our enthusiastic 7th and 8th graders, embarked on a journey to the North Carolina Zoo on October 25th. This enriching experience allowed them to delve into the critical role the zoo plays in the recovery of endangered species. As they roamed through the zoo’s vibrant exhibits, our students gained invaluable insights into wildlife conservation and the efforts being made to protect our planet’s most vulnerable inhabitants. It’s heartening to see our young leaders actively engaging in service learning and becoming passionate advocates for a better, more sustainable world.
Commandant For The Day
Monday, October 23 marked Cadet Mathurin’s reign as Commandant for the day. From 0615 to 2200, the Corps followed General Order #4. The uniform of the day switched to MARPAT, and every 30 minutes on the bull ring earned them one completed tour.
Presidential Youth Fitness Program Awards
The Presidential Youth Fitness Program (PYFP) is a national model for fitness education and assessment in schools. It promotes health-related fitness and provides physical education programs with resources and tools to empower youth to be fit for life. Participation in the PYFP assessment is voluntary, and of the Cadets that chose to participate, 13 were able to complete all of the requirements.

Devotional
Service as a Reflection of God’s Love
“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.”
1 John 4:12 (NIV)
Service is a tangible way to reflect God’s love for the world. In 1 John 4:12, we are reminded that no one has seen God, but when we love one another through acts of service, God’s love is made complete in us. Through our service at Hargrave Military Academy, we have the opportunity to be a living testament to God’s love. Our actions can show others the love, compassion, and grace of our Heavenly Father. As we engage in service, let’s remember that we are vessels through which God’s love shines brightly.
