Tigers open their season against Chatham High School
The Hargrave Tigers opened their season against Chatham High School with a 56 to 21 loss. The Tiger players played hard the whole game and never quit. The offense moved the ball well at times ending the game with 367 yards of total offense, but had a few series that were cut short by penalities. Cadet Isaiah Guzman lead the team on the ground with 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had one scoring run of 68 yards. Cadet Jason Fields started at quarterback and was 13 for 19 with a 121 yds passing and one touchdown. Cadet Myles Regan had 6 catches for 77 with one of those catches covering 36 yards for a touchdown.
Defensively the Tigers improved throughout the game, and were lead by Cadet Braden Barnett with 8 tackles and Cadet Stephen Chain with 5 tackles on the night. Cadet Dennis Brittion handled our kicking duties for the night and was 1 for 2 on extra points.
The Tigers next match up is against Blue Ridge School at home on Saturday at 2:30. Please come out and support us as we go up against the defending Division II State Champions.
