Tigers take to the pitch against SWVHA

On September 4th the Hargrave Varsity Soccer Tigers withstood a long lightning delay before the warmups and a late kickoff ,as they faced an experienced SWVA team from Roanoke . These guys, those not too familiar on campus, were  fierce competitors and proved to be a tough match for the HMA young team .

Once again Cadet Gavin Outlaw in goal showed the patience of a seasoned veteran making 10 saves throughout the game .

Great bench minutes were added from Cadet Adrian Castillo, Cadet Lorenzo Letteir,  Cadet Koa Kehei and Cadet Santiago De La Santos.  Cadet Brown Gaddy gets his second start of the season in his very first year of playing soccer.  Cadet Evan Holmes did a great job stepping up and providing support in the mid field for team captains, Cadet Patrick Fowlkes and Cadet Jack Alviani.  Cadet David Mathurin played the game of his life and literally performed his own personal “air show “ to shut down the sideline .

With none of the good guys attempts, finding the back of the net Cadet Khail McCartney’s hustle in front of the net got us on the board for the match .

Coach Bunjowski said he is thrilled to watch Cadet Matherin develop as a player and a Hargrave man.  The coach said “I’m very proud of these young men  for their hard work .”

These young men are warriors and will continue to improve with each game
