Thursday evening’s game against The Covenant School turned out to be a lose for the Tigers, but lots of lessons learned came from this game. Covenant’s varsity soccer team came out and possessed the ball extremely well, but the Tigers were able to keep them out of the net for the first 20 minutes of play. The score at halftime was 0-0.
The second half proved to be difficult for the Tigers. Covenant scored two quick goals to start the second half of play. Covenant possessed the ball extremely well and although the Tigers had 3 more opportunities than the first half, the game was truly won and lost in the midfield during the second half. By the end of the game, the score was 0-3, not in favor of the Hargrave Tigers. Outstanding contributors to this game were Jackson Miller at the outside midfield, and Paco Velasco-Lang at the center midfield position.
