The Tigers opened the season with a 66-33 victory in a scrimmage against the Bulldogs of Westover Christian Academy. Hargrave jumped out to a 7 point first quarter lead and never looked back. The lead was built to 12 by halftime and ballooned to a 58-23 lead at the end of the third quarter. Stifling defense allowed the Tigers to score easy transition buckets and the rebounding battle was won 30-13.
Eleven Tigers scored on the evening, including three in double figures. Scoring was lead by Will Bartholomew with 12 points. Also contributing were Matt Tugwell with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals and Avery Johnson with 11 points. J.D. Misenheimer lead the team with 5 assists.
