Varsity Soccer Edged By Miller

The Hargrave Tigers lost a close match to The Miller School by a score of 3-2. Miller opened the scoring with a goal in the first half after our keeper Mahmoud Gamil had some great save in the goal. Hargrave opened its scoring in the 41st minute when Dapo Omisore drove hard through the eighteen and managed to chip the ball over their goalie. Our second goal came in the 50th minute when Nii Akwetey received a great pass from Dapo Omisore and buried it in the back of the goal to take the lead 2-1.

Unfortunately The Miller School players were able to tally goals in the 63rd minute to tie it up and then again in the 72nd minute to put them back in the lead 3-2. With 8 minutes to go, Hargrave’s opportunities went wide of the goal and we were unable to get the momentum back on our side.

Francisco Velasco-Lang and Garrick Ellwood played a great game for the defense while Tyler Fallen, Nii Akwetey, Dapo Omisore, Spencer King and Zach Stone all had shots. Mahmoud Gamil had 9 saves on the game.
