On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, the Hargrave varsity soccer team fell to a disciplined Liberty Christian Academy team, 0-6. The first half showed LCA possessing the ball in the Tiger’s third of the field and constant pressure from their movement of the ball showed the Tiger’s gaps in communication. At the end of the first 40 minutes, the score read 0-2 favoring Liberty Christian.
The second half proved even more difficult for the Tigers. Due to a multitude of injuries and more miscues from most of the 11 players on the field, the Tigers crumbled with four more goals in the Bulldogs’ cap.
Highlights include play from Cadet Jackson Miller, a freshman returning letter winner, gave a solid performance in the outside mark position in the second half and Cadet Calvin Kayonga performed solidly as a the central midfielder in his first game back since his devastating high ankle spring in mid-August.
