Homecoming 2022

For the first time in three years, the Hargrave family was able to reunite on campus. With a fair bit of catching up to do, we celebrated the following reunion classes: 50th – ‘72, ‘71, ‘70 : 40th – ‘82, ‘81, ‘80 : 35th – ‘87 : 30th – ‘92, ‘91, ‘90: 25th – ‘97 : 20th – ‘02, ‘01, ‘00: 15th – ‘07 : 10th – ‘12, ‘11, ‘10 : 5th – ‘17 : 1st – ‘21, ‘20, ‘19.

In addition to regularly scheduled Alumni Weekend activities, we proudly dedicated the Dot Blair and Mary Tallent Reading Center. Hargrave would like to thank all who have supported the reading program and would also like to give a special thank you to Proctor Dean, class of ‘84, for making the Dot Blair and Mary Tallent Reading Center possible.

Congratulations to Our Graduating Seniors

As our seniors in the Class of 2022 gear up for graduation, they continue to receive acceptance letters from top colleges and universities across our nation. Recent acceptances include University of Alabama, Texas A&M, and The Citadel. Congratulations to the class of 2022 for continuing the decades long tradition of 100% college acceptance!

National Recognition for Postgraduate Basketball

The postgraduate basketball team has seen their recruitment start to really ramp up in recent weeks. There have been a flurry of commitments from Cadets on the team- and many more to come. The acceptance of these offers represents a dedication and perseverance on behalf of each Cadet listed that is extraordinary! So far, the following postgraduate basketball team members have committed to play at the next level:

Head Coach Thomas Messinger was named South Region Coach of the Year. Additionally, a handful of our postgraduate team members (pictured below) earned postseason honors for their accomplishments. These are national awards, with the candidates selected from hundreds of postgraduate programs from coast to coast. Inclusion on these lists is a huge feather in the cap to these young men that had a tremendous season and represented Hargrave well:

Upcoming Admissions Events

Re-enrollment for 2022-23
We still have an early re-enrollment incentive available for families that have not re-enrolled, yet. The deadline is quickly approaching so don’t delay!
  • Families that re-enroll by May 20th are eligible for an incentive:
    • Boarding families are eligible for a $1,000 incentive
    • Day student families are eligible for a $375 incentive
  • Financial Aid application portal is still open for the 2022-23 school year. If you received aid last year and want to receive aid again this year, you must re-apply for aid through the FAST system. There is no fee to apply for aid.  
Matriculation Schedule
Matriculation dates for the 2022-23 school year have now been finalized. Students will matriculate into the school based on the schedule below:
  • Summer School: Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 9:00 AM
  • Leadership School: Friday, August 5, 2022 at 9:00 AM
  • Football and Soccer Team Camps: Monday, August 8, 2022 at 9:00 AM
  • New Student Matriculation: Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 9:00 AM
  • Returning Student Matriculation: Monday, August 15, 2022 at 9:00 AM
Matriculation forms and information packets will be finalized very soon and sent out to all families.The first day of classes for the 2022-23 school year will be Thursday, August 18, 2022.
 
Attend and Admissions Event
The admissions team is hitting the road this summer hosting gatherings for prospective families. Interested families can see the full list of events and register for events on our website. If you prefer an in person campus visit, you can also register for a personal tour or open house. If you were unable to attend the most recent Parent Town Hall, the video is now available here.

Note from the Infirmary

The Infirmary has already started to pack all medications so that they may be sent home with cadets or picked up in the Infirmary.  Please check any travel requirements your cadet may have such as needing a COVID test.  We are happy to provide this testing for your cadet.  Please email or call to confirm what type of test is needed and when the test should be performed.
