Leadership in Action
At Hargrave, you don’t just learn about leadership — you practice it daily. You’ll put leadership skills into action in the classroom, the sports arena, within our Corps of Cadets, and in your community. Our Center for Leadership and Ethics enhances your experience by using a deliberate, graduated approach to learning where you explore character and character development in both academic and practical exercises. Hargrave’s process of building men of character is time-tested.
Center for Leadership and Ethics
Founded in 2001, The Center for Leadership and Ethics is an extension of Hargrave’s vision to provide you with the best opportunity to grow holistically as a student, athlete, and leader. Hargrave’s Four Pillars of Academics, Character, Faith, and Athletics guide our strategy to create the best leadership program in the country.
One of a Kind
Our unique leadership program formally extends into high school and post-graduate programs with the 18-week Leadership 1 and Leadership 2 courses. Our short-term goal is to inspire you to want to learn and grow as a leader.
The outcome of these formal courses is to develop you into a leader who:
- Strives to be a man of character and takes action when required.
- Wants to be a positive and contributing citizen in your community.
- Wants to make a difference and promote change.
- Has the ability to communicate effectively and make sound and ethical decisions.
