Ben Veshi is a 2013 graduate of Catawba College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. While earning his 4-year degree, Ben became a four-year letter winner in Men’s Basketball at Catawba College. Being a Webster, Massachusetts native he made the decision to further his education at Nichols College, located in Dudley, Massachusetts, earning a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing. Ben has also earned a Masters of Sport Administration from Arkansas State University.
Prior to joining Hargrave, Ben held the position of Assistant Boy’s and Girl’s Varsity Basketball Coach at Marianapolis Preparatory School, and one year later was the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Catawba College. When he started at Hargrave in 2016, Ben coached the Varsity Basketball team, here at Hargrave, four straight VISAA Elite Eight appearances, set a modern school record for wins (26 wins) in a season in 2016-17, and was named O.B. Teague ‘42 Coach of the Year in 2018-19.
During his tenure at Hargrave, Ben has held multiple roles including Athletic Director (2020-2023) and College Counselor (2017-2021) before settling into his current role as Head Prep Basketball Coach and Director of Hargrave Basketball Operations, a position he has held since May 2023. In his two years at the helm of the Prep Basketball program, Hargrave has earned a berth in each of the past two National Prep Championship tournaments, as well as an Elite Prep League Tournament runner-up finish in 2024-25.
