2009 Varsity Rifle Team Season Summary
The 2009 HMA rifle team finished first place for the season (undefeated) and second place at the state tournament held at FUMA. This year the average score for the team was 1010 points per match. This average exceeds last year’s average by 12 points. There were also 11 individual awards presented to HMA shooters.
Team Captains, David Backman and John Kneppler, will be graduating this year. Seniors Ji-Hoon Lee and Hunter Parrish will also be graduating this year. All of the returning seniors have been key players in the success of the HMA Rifle Team over the past two years. We wish them a safe and successful journey as they progress towards graduation. Their shooting skills will be missed on the firing line next season. We are looking forward to the remaining team members to return for the 2010 fall season.
2009 State Tournament Summary
At the state tournament the shooters fire 20 rounds in each position (prone, standing & kneeling), 10 points per shot, for a possible score of 600 points.
The Tiger Shooters closed the 2009 season with a 2nd place finish at the State Tournament. Hargrave brought home three (3) of eight (8) possible tournament awards. The match summary below details the individual and team accomplishments at the match.
