Hargrave Military Academy’s 36th Annual Order of the Sabre Banquet was a memorable evening filled with camaraderie, recognition, and heartfelt appreciation. The banquet took place on November 2nd, 2024, at the beautiful Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC, gathering alumni, families, and friends for a night dedicated to honoring our most dedicated supporters.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed exceptional food, uplifting speeches, and the warm company of others who share a deep commitment to Hargrave’s mission. Entertainment for the night included a special performance by Hargrave’s own praise band, which delighted attendees with two classic Frank Sinatra hits, setting the perfect tone for an evening celebrating heritage and connection.
A highlight of the night was the induction of new Sabre members, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Beilstein P’26 and Mr. and Mrs. PD Hudson P’25. Their dedication to Hargrave has made a lasting impact, and it was a privilege to welcome them into this distinguished circle of supporters.
Additionally, we had the pleasure of honoring R. Kevan Smith ’77 as a new Benefactor. He proudly received his gold Sabre pin, symbolizing his unwavering commitment and generosity. Honoring his support alongside the newly inducted Senior Benefactors, Fin Gaddy ’86 and Hardy Spence, Sr. ’65, made the night especially meaningful. As part of their recognition, Mr. Gaddy and Mr. Spence were presented with Hargrave’s iconic navy blazer, a fitting emblem of their continued support and legacy.
We are profoundly grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the evening unforgettable. Moments like these remind us of the strength and unity within the Hargrave community, and we look forward to seeing how this legacy of generosity will continue to shape the Academy’s future.
