The JV Soccer team lost a very well played soccer game tonight vs. a very good New Covenant team, 0-3.
The Hargrave Tigers won the time of possession game but just could not put the ball into the back of the net with multiple opportunities. Each player left the field distraught knowing they played so well yet came up short. That is until I told them we’d see these guys again in 10 days in a rematch, and they immediately perked up saying we are definitely winning next time. They learned some valuable lessons tonight, particularly on defense with a couple mental break downs. The problem is when the offense makes a mistake no one remembers. When the defense makes a mistake, soccer balls end up in the back of the net.
The guys really did play their hearts out. When you see the JV Soccer guys please give them a big ol’ Hargrave High five for their efforts.
