Alumni Weekend 2023 kicked off on Friday, April 21, at the Danville Golf Club with the annual Alumni tournament. Twelve foursomes competed in the tournament, including one team of HMA cadets. Coming out on top were Brian Stone ‘88, John Whitener ‘88, John Harris ‘87, and Jason Parker ‘89.

That evening, a Retreat Ceremony was held on Company Street. Many alumni showed up to witness the flag being lowered for the day. Saturday began with an early breakfast in the John D. Smith III Mess Hall, where alumni were welcomed by Alumni Director Frank Thomas ‘87. After breakfast, six alumni were chosen to complete barracks inspections. Bravo Company outshined the other companies by taking home the trophy for the sharpest barracks.

Later that morning, many made their way over to the Rick Cline Baseball Center dedication. HMA Head Baseball Coach, Frank Thomas, thanked everyone for their generosity in making the baseball center possible. Mr. Cline’s daughters, Cindy Reid ‘78 and Anne Marie Bergamini ‘80, spoke of their father’s humbleness and how the dedication of the baseball center was such an honor to their family. After the dedication, everyone headed outside where the family unveiled the “Rick Cline Baseball Center” sign, designed by Scottie Bennett ‘03.

Due to inclement weather, this year’s parade was held in Walter Davis Gym. The Corps of Cadets adjusted well to the venue change and marched with confidence. Alumni Awards were given after the parade, and the awardees are as follows:
