Loretto, PA – The Post Graduate Football Team traveled north to Pennsylvania this past Monday and played FCS Northeast Conference member St. Francis University. The PG Tigers came together and walked out with a 34-6 victory against the home standing “Red Flash” of St. Francis.
The offense moved the ball well with a balanced attack and racked up 565 yards of total offense for the day. Quarterback James Summers was impressive on the day distributing the football to 8 different players on the day. Wide Receiver Antoine Barnes led everyone with 4 catches and 1 touchdown. Chris Woolen also secured his first touchdown catch on the year, jumping above a St. Francis defender in the corner of the end zone. Running Back Isaac Robinson was one of six different running backs to carry the ball on the day. Isaac carried the ball 12 times for 4 yards a carry and the ground game churned up yards behind the offensive line. Pennsylvania natives Nate Stazewski had 50 yards rushing in his return trip home, while Brandon Mansell reached the end zone.
The defense stood strong and forced 7 turnovers on the day (4 INT’s & 3 Fumble Recovers). All 4 INT’s came from first time recipients Dominique Green, Derek Holmes, Gerard Fulton, and Rudie Henderson. Henderson had a pair on turnovers as he also recovered a fumble on the day from his linebacker position. Shaq Lawson forced 2 fumbles on the day, while he and Lester Liston each recovered one apiece. Nathan Holmes and Kaleb Edenfield each had 3 tackles on the day, while Nathan also recorded a pass break up. The Tigers have 4 games left in the 2012 season and will continue to improve as the year moves forward. The PG’s will participate in a Habitat for Humanity “Building Blitz” on Sunday, October 21st in Alta Vista, Va.
