In a match-up of two teams battling for seeding in the state playoffs, the Tigers made a definitive statement. Hargrave came out of the gate ready to play and put the game out of reach early on, thanks in large part to a 19-6 second quarter that saw the Hargrave lead jump to 21 heading into the break. The big second quarter run was keyed by the energetic play of Cadet Dewey Carpenter, who recorded two blocks, two steals and a big put-back slam during the run. Carpenter ended the night with 9 points on 4-4 shooting, to go along with 5 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals.
The balanced Hargrave offensive attack saw 11 players score, led by Cadet Adom Robinson (12 points, 3 3-pointers made), Cadet Malachi Paige (12 points), and Cadet Lyndon Massenburg (10 points, 4 assists). Cadet Tim Buchikos (4 blocks) anchored a stifling defense that allowed just 11 field goals and forced 21 turnovers.
