Varsity LacrosseOn a clear, crisp afternoon the 2-0 Tigers played host to the Bulldogs of LCA in a VISAA Division I match-up. The Bulldogs of LCA would establish their physical presence early in the game in an effort to match the offensive attack of the Tigers.

Hargrave would open the scoring with an unassisted goal from Cadet Steele Burkett, a senior captain, with strong midfield efforts by Cadet Tobi Bamisaiye and Cadet Stephen Chain to create the opportunity. The Tigers would score soon after their first with a goal from midfielder Bamisaiye with Cadet Mitchell Baker collecting the assist. The Tigers would continue their scoring efforts in the first as they would add goals again by Burkett and Cadet Michael Sullivan with sophomore midfielder Cadet Dylan Eberhard adding an assist to his season point total. The Bulldogs would take advantage of a defensive miscue at the midfield by the Tigers and get on the board late in the first. At the end of one quarter of play the tigers held a 5-1 lead.

Cadet Walker Thompson would break out the scoring for the Tigers early in the second quarter of play on a feeding pass from junior attackmen Sullivan. The second quarter of play would also see goals from Burkett and Sullivan with assist from Cadet Russell Ferguson, Sullivan and Burkett. At the end of the first half of play the tigers held an 8 to 1 advantage over the Bulldogs.

The second half would open once again with a hargrave goal as Sullivan converted a feeding pass by Burkett. Liberty Christian would convert a man up opportunity on a Hargrave penalty midway through the third giving them their second goal of the game. Hargrave would not wait long to respond as defender Ferguson would find attackmen Thompson on a clearing pass, who would net his second of the game. The third stanza of play would again see goals by Sullivan and Burkett. At the end of three periods of play the Tigers would hold a 11-2 advantage.

The final period of play would remain scoreless until Thompson found the net midway through on a solo effort from the wing. The Bulldogs would respond with their own goal shortly after with their final goal of the afternoon. With the victory well in hand the reserve players would be subbed in to the game giving them much needed game experience. The Tigers final goal came with about 5 minutes left on the game clock as midfielder Bamisaiye would feed attackmen Thompson the ball who quickly converted the pass into the final goal for the Tigers. The Tigers won 14-3.

Solid defensive performances could be found throughout the game for the Tigers with long poles Ferguson ( 2 Assist, 9 Ground balls, 1 Interception and 2 Takeaways), Cadet Ryan Brown ( 3 Ground Balls) , Cadet Nick Foster ( 1 Interception, 3 ground balls) and Cadet Zack King (4 ground Balls).
