Varsity Wrestling vs. Rustburg Invitational

For the second weekend in a row the Tigers came away with a first place finish in an Invitational tournament. This weekend’s victory took place at the Rustburg High School Invitational. Hargrave scored 255.5 points with runner up Stanton River registering 231 points. The following Tiger wrestlers participated: 171 Andy Halonen 1st place, 119 Patrick Kelly 2nd place, 152 Jerrit Reed 2nd place, 189 Stephen Smither 2nd place, 215 Zack Austin 2nd place, 112 Adam Radan 3rd place, 130 Andrew Johnson 3rd place, 135 Teddy Wynne 4th place, 140 Chris Mouton 4th place, 145 John Nelson 4th place, 275 Jon Sterner 4th place, 125 Afsheen Robinson and 160 Matt Burke. Hargrave returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to VES.

Hargrave competed in the VIC Championship on Saturday. The young men performed very well in capturing our 3rd VIC Championship title in a row.

Varsity Rifle Team vs. VMSRL State Competition

The HMA rifle team finished their second consecutive undefeated season and took first place at the state tournament for the second consecutive year as well. There were also nine individual awards presented to HMA shooters.

The Tigers split a tri-match Thursday at Lynchburg, bringing their dual meet record to 14-3-1. The following wrestlers recorded victories: 112 Nick DiAndrea, 119 Jon Sasser, 125 Sage Wijesekera, 130 Teddy Wynne x 2, 135 Garrett Torney, 145 Wes Shea, 171 Scott Flanagan x 2, 189 Paul Bennett, 275 Michael McHenry. The Tigers will return to action on January 27 after a break for exams.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday at North Cross.
