Chavis signs with the Pittsburgh Steelers

William Wiebking

Former Post-Graduate Football player Miguel Chavis signed as an undrafted free agent on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The ending of the NFL strike has allowed him to negotiate a contract.

Chavis played for Clemson University as a defensive lineman. He reports to the Steeler’s training camp in Latrobe, Pennsylvania today.

Despite injuries that he sustained during his senior year at Clemson, Chavis had conversations with several NFL teams before signing with the Steelers. He played two seasons of varsity football at Terry Sanford High before completing a prep year at Hargrave Military Academy in 2006.
