With our usual troupe of brand new wrestlers in tow, guided by our few with experience, we went up against more experienced public school teams Basset (NC), Dan River, Chatham, Tunstall, and Oak Hill. Our guys showed real courage when facing their opponents and fought with true Tiger tooth-and-nail. We even earned some unexpected wins due to sheer determination. Freshman Coltan Jackson even went into double overtime or “sudden death” overtime and had to score a point to win. It was a tense ten-minute match.
