Connor Crabtree, one of the biggest stock risers in the country, officially signed with Tulane. Crabtree, a 6’6″ guard from Hillsborough, NC exploded onto the prep scene this season, leading Hargrave in a number of offensive categories. Crabtree’s 21.4 points per game, 51% from 3-point range and 3.6 3-pointers made per game were all best on the team. He was a model of consistency for the Tigers all year long with a remarkable 19 games of 20 points or more.
“Connor was one of the best kept secrets in America, and we were lucky to have him with us this season,” commented Head Coach Lee Martin. “He had one of the best shooting seasons that we have seen at Hargrave, and people took notice nation-wide. He was a huge piece of our success this year, and will no doubt be a huge part of Coach Dunleavy’s success next year at Tulane.”
Crabtree was committed to UNC-Asheville before deciding to take a prep year at Hargrave. As his recruitment soared during his time at Hargrave, he chose Tulane over a bevy of suitors, including Cincinnati and Memphis. Crabtree’s play helped the Tigers to a 33-4 record and the #4 spot on the final national poll of the season.
