Fall 2009 PG Football vs. University of North Carolina

Hargrave 2 Touchdowns – UNC 2 Touchdowns

The Hargrave PG Football Team traveled to Chapel Hill to take on the UNC Junior Varsity team in a 60 play scrimmage, and as expected the two evenly matched teams battled the entire time. The scrimmage resulted in a 2-2 tie, with each team scoring two touchdowns.

The first Hargrave touchdown was scored by wide receiver Deon Long on a 10 yard reception from quarterback Evan Ingram. The play was set up by a nice grab from wide receiver Jabari Carr for 18 yards, and a 22 yard run from Ingram. The Tigers other score was an interception return for a touchdown by defensive back D.J. Bunn, a UNC commitment, who played well in a pseudo-homecoming game.

Other contributors on the offensive side included, running back Tahron Goods, Tight end Rob Fronk, and offensive linemen Laurence Gibson, Terrence Hackney, and Chris Jones. On the defensive side of the ball major contributions were made by defensive lineman Ego Ferguson and Josh Watson. Ferguson recorded a sack and three tackles for loss, and Watson recorded a sack and two TFL’s. Linebacker Jimmy O’Grady did a good job finishing with 6 tackles, and defensive backs Ross Madison, Dylan Farrington, and Omyn Newkirk also played well.
