Football Defeats Virginia Episcopal School 40-14

The Tigers took on VES Friday afternoon, trying to get in front of the weather that was bearing down on the east coast.  The Tigers pulled out a 40-14 win against the Bishops while fighting through the rain and wind.

Darrell Smith started the scoring on a 52 yard punt return for a touchdown.  VES answered with a 6 yard rushing touchdown.  The Tigers then scored the next  5 times.  Adam Saliu caught his first touchdown reception on the day, breaking a tackle and running 57 yards for a touchdown.  Connor Rogers followed with a 47 yard touchdown reception.  Darrell Smith followed with a 35 yard rushing touchdown before connecting with Riggs Jordan for a 41 yd touchdown reception.  At halftime the score was 34-7.  The third quarter was scoreless for both teams.  During the 4th quarter Naheed John was on the recieving end of a 87 yard pass from Darrell Smith for the last touchdown of the day.

Though the offense put up big numbers at the end of the day, the defense really shined during the course of the game.  The Tigers held VES to only 57 total yards on the day.  Darrell Smith ended the day with 258 yards passing and Jourden Galloway had 86 yards rushing on the day.  Naheed John ended the day with 101 yards receiving on just two receptions.

The win brought the Tigers to 3-3 on the season.
