Full-Strength Tigers Dispatch Caissons

At full strength for their second match-up of the season, the Tigers put away their military school rivals in short order, winning by a score of 90-66. The win is the second in as many tries for Hargrave against Fishburne, the first being a 61-58 win in Waynesboro earlier in the year.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the Tigers used a 31 point second quarter to take a 46-26 lead into the locker room. The second half featured similar offensive firepower, with Hargrave eclipsing the 90 point plateau for the first time this season.

Josh Fields had a monster game for the Tigers, scoring 26 points on 13 just 13 field goal attempts. The 13 field goals without a miss are a Hargrave School record. A balanced scoring attack for the Tigers saw two other players, Tyler Chisholm (19 with three 3-pointers) and Jason Fields (19 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists), reach double figures in scoring. Robert Tubbs (9 points, season-high 10 assists) narrowly missed his second double-double of the season.

The next game for the Tigers will be out in Richmond, as they take on Steward. The pivotal match-up between two teams ranked in the top 10 of the state is scheduled for a 6:00PM tip.
