The Hargrave Middle School basketball team played Liberty Christian Academy (LCA) on Valentines Day. The Tigers played the team from LCA closer than in their previous meeting, but were unable to upset them, losing 16-35.
The game was close for the first two quarters, with LCA holding a slim 14-10 lead at halftime. However, in the second half the LCA offense started clicking, and Hargrave was unable to stay with them. The Tigers never gave up, and hustled and played hard the entire game.
Cadet Isaiah Guzman was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 8 points. Cadets Zack Packer and Slater Barefoot added 6 and 2 points, respectively. The final game for the Tigers will be on Thursday, February 16th, at 4:00 with Holy Cross in Lynchburg.
