While the varsity rifle team when undefeated during the regular season, they lost yesterday’s state match to Fishburne by a narrow margin of ten points (1930-1940). While Cadet Payne Nunn tallied the highest personal score in the state (521), the team ended up second at the tournament overall.
“Although we lost, I am proud of our team, seeing as how I was the only returning shooter,” said Nunn. “Had any other team had to rebuild like we did, they would have not been as nearly as successful as we were. I attribute this kind of consistent excellence to Coach Fallen.”
