Hargrave traveled to Durham, North Carolina to take on Mt. Zion Christian Academy’s prep team, and escaped with a 110-107 victory in overtime. The game was back and forth throughout, with high level play from both teams and a hostile environment in favor of the home Warriors. The Tigers held a 9 point advantage with just under two minutes left in regulation, but a furious comeback from Mt. Zion tied the game just before the buzzer sounded. In overtime, the Tigers established a lead and never looked back.
Hargrave continued to showcase an unselfish, balanced scoring attack in this game. Connor Crabtree paced the Tigers with 26 points, while Rob Peterson kept his streak of strong play going with a gaudy 12 point, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Trey McGowens also stuffed the stat sheet, flirting with a triple-double with his 17 point, 9 rebound, 9 assist line. Jon Mebane (18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals) and D.J. Myers (16 points, 9 rebounds) also had big games in the win.
