Hargrave Falls Just Short In State Playoff

The Tigers went into a hostile environment in Chesapeake, VA to take on the #6 ranked Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks in a state tournement match-up and came out swinging. Hargrave showed no ill effects of the long travel day in the early going, jumping out to a seven point halftime lead. The lead switched hands toward the end of the third quarter, with the Seahawks using a quick scoring burst to take their own 6 point lead into the fourth. In a game that was tightly contested from start to finish, the Seahawks made the most of their 28 free-throw attempts and held on for the 62-56 victory. It was a solid all-around team effort from Hargrave, with every player that checked into the game making meaningful contributions. Once again, Cadet Chris Conrad (13 points, 3 3-pointers) had the hot hand from the outside, and was able to stop the bleeding on multiple occasions with big time scores late in the game. Even more critical, however, were the three momentum changing charges that he took. Conrad finished the season with an impressive 13 charges taken this season in 22 appearances. In their final game in the Hargrave black & orange, Cadet Adom Robinson and Cadet Lyndon Massenburg each chipped in 10 points and played tremendous on-ball defense on some talented Atlantic Shores guards. Cadet Keon McIntosh continued his string of strong performances with a near double-double of 9 points and 13 rebounds, while Cadet Tim Buchikos caused problems all night defnsively, swatting away five shots and altering countless other attempts.
