The Hargrave Tigers took a trip to Charlottesville, Virginia on Tuesday afternoon to face VIC opponent Covenant at Spring Creek Golf Course. After showing promise early on, the Tigers eventually fell 218-246, moving to 0-2 on the season.

Aiming to build on their close match against Roanoke Catholic on March 17th, the Tigers made their way to Charlottesville with a high level of excitement and focus for this match. Even in defeat, Hargrave’s individual golfers reached new heights, much to the joy of Head Coach Richard Phillips. Per Coach Phillips, “It was a hard fought contest on a very difficult course and every single Hargrave golfer gave it everything they had. I’m proud of their efforts and the improvement they’ve shown these past few weeks!”.

Two individuals in particular stood out as senior, Collin Himmelberg (Chapel Hill, NC), notched a team best 57 while junior Davis Talley (Clayton, NC) carded a personal best 61 on the afternoon.

Hargrave will be back in action after Spring Break as they head to Harrisonburg, Virginia to face off with Eastern Mennonite at Heritage Oaks Golf Course.
