Hargrave Juniors Set Their Sights on Leadership

On April 28-30, Hargrave hosted the much-anticipated annual Junior Retreat. This year’s crop of juniors were genuinely excited and eager to attend. This event aims to prepare cadets to transition into the Hargrave senior class, focusing on three main aspects of their growth: fellowship, leadership, and spirituality.

Throughout the retreat, cadets had the opportunity to build camaraderie with their classmates and learn more about themselves. They participated in team challenge events that allowed them to hone their leadership skills, working together to accomplish tasks and creating guidelines for the Corps of Cadets for the following year. The entire weekend was also interwoven with spiritual lessons, providing the cadets a chance to grow personally and spiritually.

The eventful weekend began with fun individual and team-building games on Friday night, followed by a prayer breakfast on Saturday morning before heading to Camp Weaver for more activities. Saturday afternoon and evening were filled with group challenges, relaxation, and heartfelt letters from family and friends. The retreat concluded on Sunday with breakfast and the presentation of class rings and junior retreat ribbons. Hargrave is grateful for the trust placed in them for the development of these young men and is proud of the growth witnessed during this year’s Junior Retreat.
