Hargrave Military Academy Forensics Team Goes to National Tournament

Eight members of the Hargrave Military Academy Forensics Team traveled to Albany, NY for the National Catholic Forensics League Grand National Tournament that was held on May 23-24th.

Over 2500 students from nearly 400 schools across the country participated in the two day event. Close to five hundred judges and school officials were on hand to administer the competitions. Only about 15% of those students participating would be eligible to go to the semi-finals held on Sunday.

The eight team members of Hargrave’s team were seniors Mark Thomas Herbert of Warsaw, VA and Michael Schantz of Greensboro, NC; juniors James Peaco of Portland ME, Christopher Duckers of McLean VA, Thomas Denson IV of Richmond, VA and Aaron Strom of Chapel Hill, NC; sophomore Benjamin Kaufmann of Bay Shore, NY; and freshman Joshua Morin of Wyandotte, MI.

While it was unfortunate that no members of Hargrave’s team made it to the semi-finals, making it to the national tournament was a great honor for these young men who worked very hard over the course of the school year.
