On Tuesday Feb 7th, the Hargrave Swim team finished their regular season match-ups with a double-dual meet against Carlisle School (Martinsville) and SW Virginia Homeschoolers (Roanoke, VA).

As the team prepared mentally and physically for the end of the season, swimmers continued to drop times and set personal records. The injection of energy from new Director of Aquatics Doug Norris to each team member’s own supply of determination and perseverance became evident in the improvements of 14 swimmers in 11 individual events.
Posting results lower than their seed times: Bjorn Brinkley (100 Back), Ashton Burton (200 Free), Chad Demarest (100 Free), Annad Khraisat (200 Free), Davy Ngabo (200 Free), JC Otter (100 Free, 100 Breast), Liam Rafizadeh (50 Free), Caleb Rogers (100 Breast), Matteo Sicignano (50 Free, 100 Free), Jackson Stewart (200 IM), and Kevin White (100 Fly). Swimming new events were Wyeth Davis (200 IM) and Scott Kennedy (200 IM).
As a team, the final results:
HMA – 106 versus SWVA – 48
HMA – 212 versus Carlisle – 22
This brings the HMA Tigers Swim record to 13-1 overall for regular season dual meets.
The VIC conference meet will be held at Hargrave’s own Onishi-Davenport Aquatics Center this Friday afternoon at 4:30. Swimmers that have qualifying times will move onto the state championships held this year in Christiansburg, VA on Feb 16-18.
