January’s Athlete of the Month has been awarded to Nathan Higdon ’21!
Higdon is a member of the Varsity Swimming and Diving team and put together a truly impressive month of great individual performances while his team continued to thrive in the pool.
The shining moment for Higdon occurred in a home meet as the Tigers hosted Virginia Episcopal and Chatham Hall. Higdon broke a seventeen year old school record in the 100 yard Breaststroke, swimming the event in 1:01.59, over a full second faster than the previous school record.
Higdon also swam his personal best in the 200 IM, 200 Freestyle, and 500 Freestyle. Currently, Higdon has qualified for eight individual events and two relays in the upcoming VISAA State Swimming Championships!
