The Varsity Baseball team took a hard opening season loss on Monday by a score of 13-3 to the Hilltoppers of E.C. Glass. The game started off great for the Tigers, as they were able to maintain the lead for the first 3 innings. However, it was from that point that the “error bug” hit. The Tigers ended up committing 7 fielding errors, which allowed the Hilltoppers to get back into and eventually win the game.
Leading the way for the Tigers at the plate was Cory Wood and Ryne Sigmon.
The Tigers return to action tomorrow when they face the Celtics of Roanoke Catholic. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 PM at Rogers-Fuller Field on the Hargrave Campus.
